Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 4.4% in the third quarter of 2025 (July–September), according to the updated estimate released by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the second quarter, real GDP increased 3.8%. The increase in real GDP in the third quarter reflected increases in consumer spending, exports, government spending, and investment. Imports, which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, decreased.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.2% on a seasonally adjusted basis in January, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 2.4% before seasonal adjustment. The all items index rose 2.4% for the 12 months ending January, after rising 2.7% for the 12 months ending December. The all items less food and energy index rose 2.5% over the last 12 months. The energy index decreased 0.1% for the 12 months ending January. The food index increased 2.9% over the last year.
